Overview
Silver Bay proudly operates two processing facilities on the Alaska Peninsula and fleet service in Port Moller. Strategically located between the Gulf of Alaska and the Bering Sea, these locations put us at the heart of some of the world’s most abundant and productive fishing grounds.
Area Fact
The volcanic landscapes, fjords, bays, and rivers of the Alaska Peninsula create diverse habitats that sustain a wide range of marine and wildlife species. These environments are essential to the region’s fisheries.
Alaska Peninsula Fishing Practices
Silver Bay fishermen seine, gillnet and pot fish. The fishing season generally runs from January through November, with salmon concentrated in the summer months.
Alaska Peninsula Fishing Sustainability
Alaska’s fishermen and fishing communities are deeply committed to sustainability, following some of the strictest fishing regulations in the world. Through responsible harvesting practices and careful adherence to the latest scientific research, they help ensure that seafood from the Alaska Peninsula is sourced with the highest standards of environmental stewardship.
